Day 48 - The Great Race

It was a big day at the new ABC building at South Bank, with the opening of the internal stair.

Most of the inside was finished when we moved in - except for the staircase.

Over the past few weeks, we have listened to hammers, drills, saws, sanders, grinders, lightsabers, chainsaws, jackhammers, nail guns, phasers and air compressors create these gorgeous steps to ABC paradise.

This afternoon also saw the inaugural "Lift Vs Stair" race with Terri "Flo Jo" Begley up against Richard "The Conversationalist" Fidler .

Rules demanded this was a "real life" experience, and as such, Richard (using the lift) had to wait for the lift to get to the top floor.

Although some may see this as an unfair advantage - them's the breaks.

The exciting race was called by experienced sports commentator Tim Cox.

The race from the top to ground floor was won by "Flo Jo" Begley who creamed "The Conversationalist" with her formidable stair sprinting style
